From 8 to 14 July 2026, the museum Riga Art Nouveau Centre takes part in celebrating European Art Nouveau Week, a major international festival dedicated to the heritage of the Art Nouveau movement. As part of the festival programme, the museum will host guided walking tours Art Nouveau Pearls, as well as screenings of Professor Jānis Krastiņš's recorded lecture.
Now in its eighth year, the festival European Art Nouveau Week symbolically revives the elegance and spirit of the Belle Époque, the golden age of Art Nouveau.
This year's programme is united by the theme The Sea and brings together participants from across Europe, including Italy, Spain, Belgium, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Finland, Denmark and many other countries.
Although the festival is coordinated from Italy, Riga will once again present a programme of events highlighting the city's exceptional Art Nouveau heritage.
On Saturday, 11 July, the museum Riga Art Nouveau Centre invites visitors to join the guided walking tour Art Nouveau Pearls. Tours will begin at 11.00 in Latvian and at 15.00 in English. Accompanied by an experienced guide, participants will explore some of the finest Art Nouveau buildings in Riga's Quiet Centre, discover the symbolic imagery adorning their façades and gain insight into the history, architecture and personalities that shaped this remarkable district.
From 8 to 11 July, daily at 16.00, visitors are also invited to attend a screening of Professor Jānis Krastiņš's recorded lecture Italian Art Nouveau (in Latvian).
