The museum Riga Art Nouveau Centre invites you to the exhibition "A Christmas Fairy Tale". The museum interior is enhanced by the festive decoration in belle-epoque style, made by Tamara Čudnovska, three Christmas trees could be found around the museum. The biggest of those are in the living room and will be visible through the bay window in the evening hours.
Every year, the museum Riga Art Nouveau Centre decorates its interior for Christmas, bringing to life the traditions of decorating rooms from the Art Nouveau period. This year, too, artist T. Čudnovska will create a festive interior design and decorate three Christmas trees. A particularly magnificent Christmas tree will be installed in the museum’s living room, adorned with Christmas tree decorations made of wood, typical of the late 19th century. Each image of the decoration carries Christmas symbolism – peace, light, hope, and tells the story of the traditions of decorating Christmas trees.
The museum's exhibition hall will feature a collection of Art Nouveau Christmas items from the museum's stock – original Dresden cardboard decorations, Christmas tree decorations made of glass and wood, gingerbread moulds, an old-fashioned Christmas lamp with a painted glass dome, holiday greetings and other items related to Christmas traditions – allowing museum visitors to feel the joy of Christmas. The exhibition will be complemented by wooden decorations from T. Čudnovska's private collection.
To maintain the atmosphere created by the exhibition, visitors will be given the opportunity to take photos in the photo salon, as well as purchase Art Nouveau Christmas postcard replicas for themselves and friends.
Families with children are invited to participate in the event for children “A Christmas Tale”, which will take place on December 20 at 12:00 and 16:00.
