The first part of the event was a commemoration of the great architect at Nuķi half-manor in Ramata district where he was born. The old building came alive with the help of folklorist Austris Grasis and his folk group "Rāmsalaca", students of Ramata primary school and dance group. The event continued in the Ramata culture centre with a conference "Family contribution to the district and the country". Among its participants were the descendants of the Pēkšēns family, another great representative of the district, Austra Baušķeniece, and project manager of Riga Art Nouveau Centre, Zaiga Bogdanova. The event was hosted by Ingūna Liepiņa, music for the general entertainment was made by song group "Dziesmotā senatne" led by Ausma Dzintare.
