An architect. After graduating from Riga Polytechnic Institute in 1902, he was an assistant to the architect Wilhelm Bockslaff for two years. In 1904, he established his own architectural practice. In 1939, he moved to Germany. About 15 residential and public buildings were constructed in Riga to Witte’s designs. Their architecture displays features of Eclectically Decorative Art Nouveau as well as Perpendicular Art Nouveau and Neoclassicism.
