Architect: Heinrihs Šēls
Bright example of early Eclectically Decorative Art Nouveau. From the distance, evenly saturated architectonic finish of the façades is redolent of the buildings of the 19th cent. in Riga. However, in this case mainly contemporary means of decorative expression are used in the finish – various masks, stylised plant motifs, curved tensioned lines, geometrical elements etc. Sculptors S. Otto and S. Wassil were the authors of saturated sculptural decorations, whereas, M. Lotze was the author of the design of impressive finish of the interior. The lobby with impressive female figures, floral paintings and reliefs is a masterful play of architectural volumes and surfaces.
